Chapter Philanthropy & Service
As a relatively new chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, we are continually growing and have found new ways to give back to our local community and the world. As Alpha Gam's, volunteering wherever and whenever we can is what we aspire to do. In previous years, Alpha Gams of Beta Upsilon have participated in 50/50 split the pot raffles, Kingoberry/Pockets, Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes, Susan G. Komen Walk to Cure Breast Cancer, Make-a-Wish-Foundation, Chicago Marathon, and Community Meals for the Homeless through Grace Place.
The newest philanthropy event that our Beta Upsilon Chapter has hosted at Roosevelt University is The Alpha Gamma Delta Annual Gala. The Gala started in 2014 and has now been implemented as our annual philanthropy fundraiser. The event normally takes place in the month of November and is held to raise money for Diabetes Research and Awareness. A few things that the Gala offers is a light dinner, silent auction, raffles, and dancing. Our first year we were able to raise $2,060 to donate back to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation and we hope to continue to raise our philanthropic contribution every year.
